As observed in 2021, compared with 2020 during the same period, ViniPortugal has registered an 8.11% growth in exportations – and the Polish market is a part of the equation.
Leading ViniPortugal’s European market in demand by recording an increase of 19.54% in 2021, the Polish market is currently standing as one of the top 10 countries in the Portuguese wine client’s global market.
It is with pride that from time to time, the Polish market is presenting itself as a new, prosperous and interested investor in this Portuguese specialty.
Master Export – Metalworking and Habitat Industry Internationalization
This project Master Export – Internationalization of the Metalworking and Habitat Industry in Águeda, Vale de Cambra and Arouca aims to support SMEs in Filieras with an impact in the North and Center Coast regions of Portugal in terms of prospecting the international market.
Master Export is a project developed in the scope of the FEDER, with the objective of promoting and supporting the internationalization of these sectors in five target markets, Belgium, Spain, France, Luxembourg and Poland, in which this institutional mission to the Polish market fits, taking place from November 8th to 11th, 2021.
The Associação Empresarial de Águeda (AEA) will be represented by vice president Óscar Mendes and Patrícia Gonçalves, (technician responsible for supporting the foreign market). The Associação Empresarial de Cambra e Arouca (AECA), will be represented by vice president Abel Oliveira and technical coordinator Célia Oliveira. She will be accompanied by Adriano Fidalgo, from Astrolábio – Orientação e Estratégia, S.A., as project consultant.
On the 8th, the mission will include a visit to the Industry Week Fair – International Fair for Innovative Industrial Solutions, https://industryweek.pl/, organized since 2016 at Ptak Warsaw Expo. A huge space with several themed showrooms that allow you to learn about new products and solutions from the main sectors of industry in Poland. On the 9th, meeting with Wschodni Klaster Obróbki Metali http://wschodniklaster.pl/ in Lublin (metalworking). On the 10th, meeting with Polski Związek Pracodawców Budownictwa www.pzpb.com.pl (habitat), and with Związek Pracodawców Producentów Materiałów dla Budownictwa www.dlabudownictwa.pl (habitat); in the afternoon, meeting with Klaster Innowacyjnych Technologii w Wytwarzaniu www.cinnomatech.pl.
Therefore, Master Export presents itself with the mission of „supporting companies from both regions in successful internationalization processes” by creating export channels to countries with high potential and geographically close and enabling them to present themselves in these markets with goods of greater technological incorporation.
Eleições Legislativas 2022 em Portugal – comunicado
No contexto das Eleições antecipadas para a Assembleia da República, comunica-se a todos os eleitores residentes e inscritos no recenseamento eleitoral na Polónia que:
Atendendo ao definido na alínea g) do artigo 12.º da Lei n.º 47/2018, de 13 de agosto, que consagra o direito de opção dos eleitores residentes no estrangeiro entre votar presencialmente ou votar por via postal nas eleições para a Assembleia da República, a Embaixada de Portugal em Varsóvia informa que os eleitores recenseados na Polónia que não exerçam o seu direito de opção por votar presencialmente até à data da convocação do ato eleitoral (publicação do Decreto Presidencial em Diário da República), votam necessariamente por correspondência (via postal).
Neste último caso, o boletim de voto será enviado para a morada de residência na Polónia, que consta no Recenseamento eleitoral. O eleitor, depois de preencher o boletim de voto, deverá remetê-lo por correio, sem custos, para o remetente em Portugal. É assim importante que confirme qual a morada que consta no Caderno Eleitoral.

Caso pretenda votar presencialmente, a Embaixada de Portugal em Varsóvia agradece aos cidadãos nacionais residentes e inscritos no recenseamento eleitoral que pretendam exercer o referido direito, de nos informarem com a maior brevidade, considerando que tal só será possível até à publicação em Diário da República da data da realização das eleições. Para o efeito, deverão os eleitores indicar esta sua opção pelo voto presencial para o e-mail da Secção Consular (sconsular.varsovia@mne.pt), indicando ainda o seu nome completo, número de cartão de cidadão e data de nascimento.
A possibilidade de opção pelo voto presencial cessará no dia em que ocorra a publicação do Decreto Presidencial em Diário da República.
Portuguese wine exports grow 19.3% in first half of 2021
We have some good news about the Portuguese wine industry from ViniPortugal!
In the first half of 2021, the total export of Portuguese wines grew by 19.3% and 9.2% compared to the same periods in 2020 and 2019 respectively. Also, the average price increased by 4.2%.
Importantly, Polish purchases of Portuguese wines grew by 36.6% compared to 2020 and reached 15.5 million euros.
However, France still remains the leader in importing Portuguese wines, followed by USA, UK, Brazil and Germany. Except for Angola, which recorded a 12.2% drop in its purchases of Portuguese wines compared to last year, all the other markets recorded growth. Apart from Poland, substantial growth was also observed in Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, China, Denmark, Russia, Ukraine and Mexico. The biggest increase was observed in the case of South Korea, which recorded a growth of 139% with the value of purchases reaching 3.5 million euros.
According to Frederico Falcão, president of ViniPortugal this gives hope that the Portuguese wine industry is starting to consolidate its position within the global wine industry.

Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union
From 1st January to 30th June 2021, Portugal took over the Presidency of the Council of the EU for the fourth time, under the motto ‘Time to deliver: a fair, green and digital recovery’. For six months, and under the COVID-19 pandemic, the Portuguese Presidency focused mostly on Europe’s recovery, specifically through the climate and digital transitions, the Social Pillar of the European Union and Europe’s strategic autonomy.
Marking the end of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council, we bring you some of the biggest results and achievements of the last six months:
- Approval of the European Climate Law, putting into law the objective of a climate-neutral EU by 2050;
- The Porto Social Summit, which resulted in the adoption of the Porto Declaration on the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights and the EU-India Summit with EU leaders and the Indian Prime Minister, reinforcing cooperation in areas such as economy, investment, climate, space and digital;
- Approval of the EU Digital COVID Certificate as a way to resume and facilitate free and safe circulation within the EU during the COVID-19 pandemic;
- Fiscal Transparency: conclusion of the proposal on the tax transparency of large multinational companies.
