PPCC Letter sent to the Ministry of Economic Development of Poland

As many of you might have noticed, on 18 July 2017 the Polish Council of Ministers submitted to the Parliament a draft proposal allowing the President to unilaterally terminate the current agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, signed between Poland and Portugal on 11 March 1993. The primary grounds stated in the written reasoning is the European Commission’s negative attitude toward intra-EU BITs (i.e. BITs between EU Member States) and purported doubts as to whether the Poland-Portugal BIT is in accordance with EU law.

Given the importance of the subject, attached please find a letter sent by the Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (PPCC) to the Ministry of Economic Development of Poland, with our voice on this matter (with working translation version in English).

DZP Adviser of the Year in prestigious Infrastructure & Construction Diamonds contest

On 8 February in Warsaw INFRASTRUCTURE & CONSTRUCTION DIAMONDS were awarded for the second time. The contest committee awarded Domański Zakrzewski Palinka a prize in the Adviser of the Year category. Prizes were awarded for special achievements in the infrastructure & construction sector.

Statues were presented at a gala concluding the VIII Polish Infrastructure & Construction Conference, sponsored by the Polish Construction Engineers Chamber, the Polish Association of Construction Employers, the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways, the European Council of Civil Engineers and the International Project Finance Association.

The Infrastructure & Construction Conference organised by the Executive Club is an annual meeting of prominent infrastructure leaders attended by representatives of the largest companies, renowned representatives of the sector from Poland and abroad.

Mota-Engil Central Europe: The Nysa bypass with great progress

The progress of the contract for the construction of a Nysa bypass road  already amounts to more than 80%.  The construction was started in the end of 2014 and its completion is scheduled for October 2017.

The bypass road will be 16.5 km long, including 7.4 km as a segment of national road no. 46 (dual carriageway road) and 9.1 km as a segment of national road no. 41 (single carriageway road). The project involves the construction of 14 bridge structures, including the longest 383-meters long bridge over the river Nysa Kłodzka.

Mota-Engil Central Europe: Developments & improvements

The letter of intent concerning local railway line was signed by representatives of Mota-Engil Central Europe, City Strzelin, Municipality Kondratowice, Lower Silesia Province and representatives of other companies from the region.

The aim of the revitalization of the railway line is to move the transportation of aggregate rock from mines, including granite quarry belonging to Mota-Engil Central Europe in the Górka Sobocka, from roads to rail. The above solution will make the quarry more competitive and will allow to get in more efficient way to the Clients. This solution is more environmentally friendly, and it will also provide greater comfort and safety for users of the local roads.​

Mota-Engil Central Europe was awarded a statuette for OUTSTANDING HUMAN CAPITAL INVESTOR.
