Dear PPCC Members and Friends,

It’s our great pleasure to inform you that the first edition of the Wines of Portugal tasting in Warsaw, organized by the Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and ViniPortugal, was held at Hotel InterContinental Warsaw, on the 8th October 2015, and was a tremendous success!

The event was attended by over 400 people, including 100 professionals of the wine industry (sommeliers, importers, HoReCa) that came from all around Poland to taste superb Portuguese wines. 29 Portuguese wine producers were present in the Wine Fair, showing some of the best wines the country has to offer.

This was a very special event, layered in the following separate events:

• 2 Masterclasses for professionals, that took place in the morning and early afternoon. The goal of these masterclasses was to teach Polish wine professionals, through wine tasting, how to appreciate and distinguish all the features of the great Portuguese wines.
• 1 Polish market workshop for Portuguese wine producers, aimed at informing the producers about the Polish wine market, Poles’ consumption habits and provide the producers both with a brief summary of the wine industry history in Poland and the perspectives for the future.
• 1 Wine Fair for professionals, with the goal of bringing wine professionals from all over Poland to taste some of the great Portuguese wines. Distributors, Importers, Sommeliers, Bloggers and representatives of the HoReCa channel attended this wine fair and left the event very pleased and impressed with the wines they tasted.
• 1 Wine Fair for general public, that managed to bring a huge crowd of professionals from other areas and wine connoisseurs to try a great variety of Portuguese wines. From green wine to Port wine – everything could be found in this remarkable wine fair!
